Irony

"A state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often amusing as a result."

The irony in our life currently is that going small costs more than staying in the large house. At least in the short term. At least while making the transition.

I've seen a lot of blogs about this and a few youtube vlogs as well. And to be sure, breaking away from the brick and mortar life isn't easy. The first problem is we need to maintain our current lifestyle while seeking to fund and find the next one. We don't want a payment and therefore must save up to purchase our small home on wheels.

To that end, we've started this blog with links to items we do actually use. We've had a garage sale. We are selling various items on offerup, e-bay, facebook marketplace and craigslist.

But it's daunting and time-consuming and to a large degree, discouraging.

I asked my children if there were anything they wanted of mine so I wouldn't sell it. Ironically, they want nothing. I'm sort of hurt by that but it does simplify things a great deal. I really can put a bumper sticker on the RV that says "I'm spending my kids inheritance." And that's ok. They seem to understand that I put my dreams on hold to give them as decent a start in life as I could. And now, it's my turn.

So, we are asking for your help. Please subscribe. Please check out the shopping guide. There will be things we don't necessarily write about but that we do use or will be using on there. And please, tell us what you think. Do you have suggestions, ideas or advice? Let us know!
