Moving In and Moving On (or, how much stuff can I fit into one tiny home?)

Sorry this is a day late. Yesterday just got away from me. But the sunrise this morning was beautiful. These pictures were taken from my bed as I sipped my morning coffee.

So, as I said in my last post, I moved from a 2500 sq ft house to a 250 sq ft travel trailer. It does have a fantastic amount of storage but I didn't realize until the last moving day, how much of a food hoarder/doomsday prepper I am. Even after installing sliding racks in the pantry, I have a ton of non-perishables under my office/dining table.

I'm doing my best to use these things first.

Then there are pots and pans, dishes, glasses, cooking utensils, small appliances, clothing, shoes, extra sheets and blankets, books, first aid and medications, office supplies... The list goes on and on.

But I organized, consolidated, arranged, and rearranged until most of it looks pretty good. Everything in the kitchen is within easy reach. I did add some extra basket style shelves.

There are some things that will be going into a storage shed that isn't built yet. Currently, all the things that will be stored in the shed are stored under a tarp. Hopefully, the shed will be built in a couple of weeks.

I have a Westinghouse generator and a Bluetti solar system. I charge the solar with the generator and solar panels during the day and use the solar batteries at night. This way I have continuous electricity for the refrigerator, and internet. I am using a Starlink system. It is fabulous. I can watch a movie, use my laptop and phone at the same time with no buffering or delays.

All in all, I think it's a pretty comfortable home. I'll talk more next time about the appliances I use and how I save electricity with them.

I hope you enjoy seeing my adventure unfold and I hope some of it will be helpful to those who want to either live smaller or hit the road for travel in a smaller space.
