So Little Time!

I haven't been writing lately so this blog has been silent. But my excuse is FAMILY! Labor Day weekend they were all here. The son, daughter, boyfriend, and grand kids. I wasn't writing for a couple of weeks before that because I was preparing for the visit. I have to keep up the illusion that I'm perfect for my kids which meant deep cleaning the house and stocking the refrigerator. I'm sure they all know I'm not perfect but I pretend anyway. Bottom line we all had an exhausting but wonderful time and the only casualty was my dining room table. It was pretty shaky before but it gave up under the pressure of my grand-son. But as my daughter pointed out, it wouldn't be a visit home without breaking a piece of Mom's furniture.

But what isn't broken in my family are our relationships. Connecting and eating, and laughing together is worth losing a table. We did talk about how I'm going to be downsizing and continuing my son's van life. (He did it alone a few years ago.) That brought up the subject of all the stuff I need to do first. Like, scanning and saving the closet full of photos for them. And who wants my mother's silver? (No one, by the way, lol.) They all want the 60" TV. But I've got news for them. Family heirlooms I will force them to take. My stuff is getting sold. I have a life to fund after all. And, speaking of life, that made me think about my death.

No, I'm not dying anytime soon. I plan on being around to torture them for a very long time. However, I do believe I should plan better for that eventuality. If I plan then they won't have to deal with so much and I can leave them knowing they can remember me without being stressed over bills, or funeral arrangements, etc.

Next time, I'll be writing about my plan for a no stress, planet sustaining death. Sounds like fun, right?
